There is a time of year when Italy transforms its colours. Woodlands turn shades of red, gold and orange. The air grows cooler, and the days are spent strolling through nature, exploring art cities and enjoying beautifully laid tables. It is the season of roasted chestnuts and truffles, pumpkins, wine tastings and relaxing spa retreats.
